Canoeing in the lower Flumendosa, Quirra, Rio Picocca and surrounding areas
It is definitely the beauty of the beaches and its sea that is the main attraction point for this area. Sarrabus, however, also offers so much in its immediate hinterland, and so if you move just a few kilometers inland you can discover and visit forests, archaeological sites, museums and enchanting landscapes.
And if paddling you don’t mind, streams, rivers, swamps, ponds, here, for kayakers, you are spoiled for choice.
With the Muravera Trekking group we navigated some of these waterways, besides the great fun you can admire the area the Flora and Fauna from a different perspective.
Here is a short collection of videos and pictures, many beautiful kayak trips from Flumendosa to Portocorallo, from Feraxi up the Rio Picocca and then the Rio Quirra to the foot of the Castle (mixed sea and inland waters) and more.
